The new software release extends the core functionality of OnPoint's current OnPoint Course Manager ("OPCM") offering and includes myriad enhancements across several areas including improved ease of use, customization, third party integration and reporting/analytics. Major features included in the new system include improvements in the user/learner interface, customer-specific branding/customization, user/group-specific announcements, new assessment features including randomized tests and more standard assessment types like performance appraisals and exit interviews, timed courses, enhanced library functionality and course completion certificates, and detailed reporting and analysis of course and user progress statistics and metrics. All of these enhancements are considered part of the core platform and offered at no additional charge to customers.

The foundation for the new version 2.0 platform leverages the latest updates in popular open source tools and applications including Apache/Jakarta Tomcat (application server) and MySQL Pro (database server) which both offer superior, enterprise-class performance for a fraction of the price of other mainstream offerings. Compatibility with Microsoft XP's Service Pack 2 is also included in the new release.
